TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date28 June 1912
DescriptionTelegraphed him this morning the reassure him about the Cambridge Philosophical Society. The reason why the name of the Society has disappeared from the list which Sir Joseph Larmor must have seen when he spoke or wrote to Darwin, is that the President, in his anxiety to have a list ready to present to the Lord Chamberlain in connection with the Windsor Garden Party, had one made a fortnight ago, in which only these institutions were included which had actually named a delegate. Cambridge Philosophical Society was among these, but there was no intimation of the name of the delegate.

A working list is being kept going, and several important nominations have been made since the President closed the list, and these, presumably, will be sent in on the supplementary list.
