| Description | Sending a letter which has come from Shaw. Schuster is probably cognizant of the circumstances to which they refer. Geikie is very worried about the future of Eskdalemuir. There will be great difficulty in retaining the service of a great man in so remote a location from civilization. But it seems eminently desirable that the observatory should be maintained as efficiently as possible. Hears that it is unlikely that Walker will get the Australian post he is applying for. It was a great pity that he could not remain in his present post. Asks if he has anyone in mind who could replace Walker. |
