| Description | The Royal Society has the original Levelling Books of Lloyd referred to in his paper in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' 1831, and there will be no difficulty in letting Henrici see them if he sends a little formal note applying for leave, which is the statutory condition for consulting originals in the archives. Someone came here a short time ago from the Admiralty about this very paper and asked to consult the notebooks, but he found what he wanted in the printed paper. His enquiry has reference to the datum mark at Sherrness. In any case, Harrison will do hisbest to assist him. |
