TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Edgar Harrison
Date5 December 1912
Description'I shall be much obliged if you will let me know whether it would pay to have the annual lists of Candidates, for which I am now sending you copy, stereotyped, or at any rate kept in type from year to year. Out of 104 certificates which were printed last year there are already 60 to be repeated for this year, and I have no doubt I shall have a good many more to send before the end of the month. So that in all probability we shall repeat quite 75 per cent of those which were printed last year.
In such case it seems to me that an unnecessary amount of trouble and risk of accidental error is involved in setting up all these afresh every year; and I would say at once "stereotype" were it not that the pagination is sure to change and that there will be [?] every year.
Would it be possible and worth wile to stereotype each certificate separately and put them together in forms when the list is complete at the end of the year?
I shall be much obliged by your advising me generally on the subject; and with regard to the Year Book also, in which there is a great deal of matter which it seems to me might be stereotyped, if the pagination difficulty can be got over. Every year at the Audit people say something about the cost of the Year Book, and I am anxious to keep it down as far as possible.'
