TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Alban Evans, 4 Northampton Place, Swansea
Date10 December 1912
Description'In answer to your enquiry concerning Alban Thomas, we find in the Philosophical Transactions of 1708 an advertisement by him (Alban Thomas, Librarian of the Ashmolian Repository in Oxford) that he will supply specimens of certain named Fossils at a guinea the collection.
This is the only thing we find with his name attached. He does not seem to have been a Fellow of the Society, so that it is rather difficult to understand how his advertisement of 1719 should be, as it were, dated from the Royal Society's House. I do not find any other papers under his name and I fear I can hardly furnish you any other information about him.'
