TitleCopy letter from Arthur Schuster, Secretary of the Royal Society to the Hon Secretary, Observatories Committee, Royal Cornwall Polytechnic
Date10 December 1912
Description'The letter from the President of the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society and yourself dated November 26 was considered by the Council of the Royal Society at their last meeting, when it was resolved that a grant of £150 be voted to the Observatory from the sum placed by the Government Grant Committee in the hands of the Council to meet any pressing demands on the Government Grant which may be made between the annual meetings of the Committee.
It is hoped that this grant will enable the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society to carry on their observations for a further period of six months in the course of which the result of the efforts now being made to establish the Observatory on a more permanent basis may be expected to be know.'
