DescriptionThe President and Council last week had under consideration the appointment to vacancies on the General Board and Executive Committee of the National Physical Laboratory. The following appointments were made and the members so appointed have agreed to accpt office:-
General Board, representatives of the Royal Society - Sir Joseph Larmor, Mr Otto Beit, Sir H F Donaldson, Viscount Esher, Sir Robert Hadfield and Sir J J Thomson.
General Board - Mr R Elliot-Cooper, Dr W N Shaw.
Executive Committee - Prof Schuster, Sir Robert Hadfield, Prof W C Unwin.
The Royal Society are in correspondence with HM Treasury with regard to an extension of Lord Rayleigh's term of office as Vice Chairman of the General Board and the Executive Committee.
