Description'I enclose particulars of the appointment of Superintendent of Eskdalemuir Observatory, which has fallen vacant; and I am directed to ask you to be good enough to bring the vacancy to the notice of any Fellows of your Society who may be likely to be interested. The Royal Society has advertised the vacancy, but the Gassiot Committee is anxious to take every means of securing good candidates.'
