Description'With reference to your letter of December 21st, asking for particulars of Samuel Christian Hollman who was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1747 I append the following information, which is all I am able to find with regard to him:
"He was Professor of Philosophy at Gottingen, and made perpetual and indefatigable endeavours towards the increase of experimental Philosophy"
This is inserted on his certificate of election.'
