Title Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Messrs Murray, Hutchins, Stirling & Co
Date25 January 1913
DescriptionIn reply to the recipient's letter of the 22nd, Harrison send a memorandum drawn up some time ago by the Council of the Royal Society on the subject of bequests and donations to the Society and Harrison asks that Messrs Murray etc call this to the attention of their client.
The Society has not prescribed any form of bequest as suitable to its needs, but its anxious that bequests should be made in accordance with the terms of the memorandum enclosed [no enclosure]. If any special form of bequest directed to any particular purpose is considered desirable, it would seem expedient for Messrs Murray etc to send a communication to the Society asking whether the Council would be prepared to accept a trust on terms prescribed by your client. In the matter of form it will be well to bear in mind that the corporate title of the Society is "The President, Council and Fellows of the Royal Society of London for promoting Natural Knowledge.
