Description'Your letter of the 23rd November last has been under consideration by the President and Council of the Royal Society, and I am now directed to inform you that they have nominated Major Percy MacMahon and Professor Hector Macdonald, Fellows of this Society, to serve on the Committee which it is proposed to convene for the purpose of arranging for a celebration next year of the Tercentenary of John Napier of Merchiston.
It is presumed that you will communicate direct with the gentlemen named with regard to any meetings of the Committee. Major MacMahon's address is, 27 Evelyn Mansions, Carlisle Palce, London, SW and Professor Macdonald's, The University, Aberdeen.'
