TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie to Professor H [Herbert] H [Hall] Turner FRS, Oxford
Date29 January 1913
DescriptionGeikie has received Turner's letter enclosing a copy of his printed letter to the Chairman of the Board of Visitors of Greenwich Observatory dated 15th instant. The Board has undoubtedly full power to direct the Astronomer Royal to make such astronomical observation and calculations as he in his judgement thinks proper. If he does not think them proper, the Board has no power to compel him to make them; but this scenario is unlikely to arise. Geikie writes that the changes Turner propose should be discussed by the Board and that a special meeting could be called.
