TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor H [Henry] S [Selby] Hele-Shaw FRS
Date1 March 1913
DescriptionHarrison reported Hele-Shaw's letter of February 20th and suggestions were mentioned at the Council meeting. In particular the custom of communicating the names of the fifteen selected candidates to the Press immediately, was disscussed; but in the end Council came to the conclusion that on the whole the balance of advantage was in favour of the practice of recent years and that demand did not justify the special despatch of the list of names to all Fellows.
It would take an appreciable time after the Council meeting to print and despatch a special list of names, so that in any case the published announcement would appear before the list reached the Fellows individually.
