Description'I am directed by the PResident and Council to invite you to deliver the Croonian Lecture to the Society this year, on some date to be arranged between Easter and the end of the session in June.
It is understood that the subject of your lecture would be related to your researches upon the Origin of the Mammalia. I shall be glad to hear at your early convenience whether you are willing to accept the appointment proposed and in that case what the precise title of your lecture would be and which of the meetings of the Society within the limits above-mentioned would be most convenient to you.'
