TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Dr A J Chalmers, 79 Holland Park
Date4 March 1913
DescriptionHarrison is sorry to have missed seeing Chalmers yesterday. His reason for hesitating to give a formal assent to reproducing the figures illustrating a paper by Sir David Bruce is that Chalmers has given no evidence so far that the authors of the paper in question are willing that the drawings should be reproduced in the book by Chalmers and Dr Castellani. The case that arose in 1909 was different because Harrison was able to apply to Professor Minchin, and Dr Castellani himself was one of the authors. Sri David Bruce is now in Nyasaland [Malawi] and Harrison does not feel justified assuming his consent.
If Chalmers can obtain access to either Major Hamerton or Capt. Bateman [who were join authors of the paper] they will take responsibility consenting.
