Description'I have your letter of yesterday about the Sandwhich Isalnds Committee; but can find no record at all in the Council Minutes of tha Tcommittee having been appointed by Council RS [of the Royal Society] so far as I can such that it was appointed by the Government Grant Committee and I have therefore referred your letter to the clerk of that Committee to seek the desired authorization. Seeing however that the Committee, as you describe, is still in being I do not quite see why it should need reinstituting in order to wind up its [?].'
