TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Mackrell, Macon, Godlee & Company
Date25 April 1913
DescriptionRelating to their letter of 2 April and previous correspondence, Harrison now has the pleasure to send five Transfers of Securities under the administration of the Lord Lister estate duly executed and sealed in Council at their meeting yesterday. The Royal Society have been in correspondence with the bankers with reference to the securities proposed to be transferred, and upon their report the Council yesterday authorised the acceptance of the securities as they stand, subject to a doubt which has been raised regarding the stock of the China Navigation Company.

Following information contained in their letter of 16 April enquiry has been made of Messrs Swire & Son, who have stated that the Company is a private one and that is is consequently some doubt as to whether the Royal Society could be accepted as stockholders. The Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe] has asked Harrison to refer this point to them to ask how they proposed to deal with it.
