TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor C E Guy, Laboratoire de Physique, Geneva
Date30 April 1913
DescriptionOnly little information can be given about Pierre Provost. He was proposed as a member of the Royal Society in 1805 and elected in 1806. Beyond the original manuscripts of his papers published in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' in 1798 and 1902, but there are seemingly no other documents relating to him, other than a short obituary notice. It is possible there may be something concerning him in journals and correspondence of contemporary men of science such as Davy, Young and Wollaston. It is also possible that there may be something at the Royal Institution.
