TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Archibald Geikie, President of the Royal Society
Date28 July 1913
DescriptionGeikie's letter reached Harrison this morning, and shortly afterwards he had a visit from the Surgeon General - [Sir David] Bruce, who reached England on Saturday. He seems well, and energetic as usual, and if Geikie comes on Thursday he will see him.

Nobody has taken any exception to Geikie's choice of the red cover for the Anniversary Volume, and it will now be sent off to Oxford.

Professor [Arthur] Schuster looked in on Saturday and has now gone abroad. Among the papers shown to Schuster was a letter which came a short time ago from the Treasury asking the Council to nominate a member of the International Geodetic Association in the place of Sir George Darwin. It is a matter for the next Council meeting. Schuster is under the impression that before his death intended Sir [David] Gill should suceed him in this capacity, and Schuster thinks this would be a very suitable appointment.
