TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Messrs Mackrell, Maton, Godlee & Company, 21 Cannon Street, E.C.
Date15 October 1913
DescriptionRegarding their letter of 10 October enclosing Certificate for Ontario Railway Stock, already acknowledged, Harrison has been in consultation with the Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe] respecting the China Navigation Stock forming part of the bequest to the Royal Society under Lord Lister's will. After due consideration the Treasurer has requested Harrison to say that he does feel justified in advising the Council to take a transfer of this stock, whether through the medium to trustees or otherwise, but he is authorised to accept the suggestion of your clients contained in their letter of 30 June last.

Therefore they should retain the holding of the stokc for the time being and endeavour to sell it in small blocks, paying over to the Royal Society the money as received from time to time and the dividends on stock remaining in their hands. Asks whether their clients are still prepared to act upon this suggestion.
