Description | Rix apologises that Ballinger's letter of 22 December 1891 has waited so long for a response.
He answers that the Royal Society allow no special terms to institutions, and explains that the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' appear as separate memoirs at frequent intervals, and are published by Messrs Trubner & Company, with the price varying according to size. Rix also states that these are collated into an annual volume, which is likely to be best suited to Ballinger's purpose, and usually appears at the end of January, and are available to purchase from Messrs Harrison & Sons. An announcement, including the price, is issued in 'Nature', 'Athenaeum' and 'The Times'.
The 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' are noted as appearing about once a month at various prices, and are re-issued in two annual volumes, priced at one pound and one shilling a volume. |
