TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date25 January 1892
DescriptionUpdates on matters of Royal Society business.

Rix informs Foster that Professor William Crawford Williamson has chosen 10 March for his paper; Sir William Roberts consents to serve on Board G, but declines the position of chairman, but there have been no other refusals; Mr Hulke pointed to the full obituary of John Wood in the 'Lancet', but states that he had not seen much of him since 1862, with the implication that he does not wish to write the obituary; Rix encloses Professor Arthur Rucker's report on Bayliss and Starling, but they do not have the relevant letters to Foster concerning it; Rix had forgotten to ask for the three pounds, but he had enough to pay the wages so it did not matter; Dr Routh accepts the obituary of George Airy.
