TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to J J Johnson, 23 Warwick Street, Regent Street, W.
Date26 January 1892
DescriptionRix returns Demand Notes amounting to 47 pounds, seven shillings and six pence. He states that they are advised, in respect to the item for 28 pounds, 17 shillings, and six pence under schedule A, that it should not be paid as they have received from the Commissioners, after a lengthy correspondence, a letter promising to consider their claim regarding this tax.

He also sends two cheques in payment of the balance of 21 pounds, two shillings and six pence. Rix also mentions that the Demand note of House Duty should be made out in his name and not that of Mr W White, who retired from the Royal Society over six years ago.
