| Description | Rix states that Marshall Ward's report arrived that morning, and before he puts the work in hand he requests that Foster's instruction that it is to be printed in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' be confirmed. He describes the manuscript as 'huge' and explains there are tables in it which would more conveniently go into quarto, though they are not impracticable in octavo. He also asks if the report is to be registered as a Royal Society paper for reading.
He has summoned the Committee for the following Thursday, and asks if this is correct. He also asks whether he may accept the enclosed [not included].
Rix has taken off Roy, Adami, and Harley, as he has not yet been able to see Lord Rayleigh. A postscript notes that Rix has just seen Rayleigh, and states that Lees and Worthington are to take the place of the two biological papers. |
