DescriptionGeikie, on behalf of the Council of the Royal Society, asks that they convey to Monsieur [Jean-Servais] Stas their congratulations on the fiftieth anniversary of his membership of the Royal Academy of Belgium. They are pleased of the opportunity to show their admiration and respect for their Foreign Member, and hope that Stas will continue the researches which have 'shed so much lustre on chemical science' and use his influence to promote the cause of science in Europe.
