TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Kegan, Paul, Trench & Company
Date3 February 1892
DescriptionRix explains that they sent a receipt for their account of 59 pounds, three shillings and one penny on 20 November 1891, accepting their cheque without looking over the account, in order to have it pass through in time for their audit; but, he draws attention to his statement made in the covering letter, which made clear that the account would be examined at a later date.

Rix apologises for the delay, but notes that the account has now been checked, and they have found a number of omissions. A list is provided of the parts of separate papers and 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' which were obtained from the Royal Society, and which they have on file, and have cross referenced with their stock-books. All the dates given come within the period of account sales up to 30 June 1891. Rix asks that they send a cheque or credit note, and states that he has enclosed the account sales for their inspection, which he asks that they return.
