TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to W B Keen
Date4 February 1892
DescriptionRix states that the collector of taxes has said that they must pay the 26 pounds and five shillings on the enclosed demand note, which Rix had withheld in compliance with Keen's advice. The Inland Revenue Office assured the collector that they knew nothing of any correspondence, so the Royal Society showed him the Inland Revenue letter to convince him.

Rix now returns it to Keen, together with Mr Johnson's letter and the demand note. He asks for the demand note back, with Keen's advice as to whether to pay. The Treasurer has told Rix to pay if Keen advises he should.
