TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Monsieur Gabriel Lippmann, Membre de l'Institut, 4 Carrefour de l'Odeon, Paris
Date15 April 1891
DescriptionRix reports that it was suggested, at a meeting of the committee appointed to arrange the 'exhibition of scientific novelties' at their forthcoming Soirée, that Lippmann might be willing to exhibit one of his 'famous' photographs of the spectrum. He has consulted with Captain William de Wiveleslie Abney on the matter, who thought they might write directly to Lippmann, on behalf of the committee, to ask if he would loan one of his spectra to the Royal Society.

The Society would naturally pay for all packing and transport.
