Description | Rix explains that Mr James Edward Henry Gordon proposes to exhibit at their May Soirée some new inventions for use in electrical distribution. His apparatus will require a current of four or five amperes at from 80 to 100 volts to activate it, and this would be used intermittently for a few moments at a time. Rix asks whether they think it possible for the Royal Society to supply the necessary current for these experiments. A quick reply would be appreciated, as they cannot accept the exhibit until they have received it.
He also reminds them that the Soirée is on 6 May, and their batteries must be in order before that date. Rix will lay their requisition before the Treasurer, and trusts there will be no difficulty in doing the necessary work in time for the Soirée. |
