TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Archibald Barr, Royston, Dowanhill, Glasgow
Date13 May 1891
DescriptionRix writes in reference to Barr's note of 8 May to Lord Rayleigh, and states that he did not clearly understand the first note, but he has seen Sir William Thomson, who has explained the situation to him.

Rix wishes to make clear that Barr's illustrations will be gladly received in whatever form he wishes to send them. He explains that they usually photograph the diagrams on the blocks before cutting, but Barr should send whichever form is most convenient, as they can be easily be adapted. Any questions about the illustrations should be sent to Mr Collings, 172 Strand, explaining that Rix directed him to communicate directly. Collings does all the Royal Society illustrations, with the exception of lithographs.
