Description | Rix states that the obituary notice of William Allen appeared in the Presidential address for 1844, but unfortunately, they do not have it in any separate form. Number 60 of 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' contains it, and can be purchased from Messrs Harrison & Sons or the Society's office, at the cost of one shilling each.
He does not recognise the Mrs Rix mentioned by Hanbury, but speculates that she may be a cousin, so Rix is sending the letter to an old uncle, who is well-informed in the matter of family records. He will write again if he receives an answer. |
