Description | Rix reports that Street's men came in compliance with their request of 13 May, and did some of the work requested, namely the mending of two sash lines. They did nothing, however, to the area door or the broken steps, aside from looking at them. The Royal Society's office waited for them to return and complete the work, but since they have not done so, Rix has highlighted the matter.
He further explains that the steps were broken when the boiler of their heating apparatus was brought in under the inspection of the Board of Works, but that the broken pieces still lie about and risk getting lost. Futhermore, he notes the broken hinge as a 'really pressing matter' requiring immediate attention. |
