Date2 June 1891
DescriptionThe Clerk's letter of 1 May was laid before the President and Council of the Royal Society at their first meeting since receipt of the letter.

Foster has been directed to respond that the Society, in its corporate capacity, has not made an investigation of the type indicated on the vitality of microscopic pathogenic organisms, but believe that believe that such an investigation might be undertaken by some of the Society's Fellows, or other men of science, working under the direction of the Society; as such, they are prepared to consider the best way to initiate such an enquiry.
