TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date1 June 1891
DescriptionRix notes that the Duke of Sutherland is a Fellow of the Royal Society, and although they cannot avoid asking him, he has given instructions that careful supervision be exercised over names given to reporters, and neither the Duke nor Duchess will appear in the lists unless they get them in there themselves, which cannot always be prevented. He notes that they 'are pretty sure to come...'

Nicolson is reported as having just returned after 'very exciting adventures' in East Africa and elsewhere, and has some native weapons. Rix asks if it would be worth showing them.
