TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to [John William Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, [Royal Society]
Date25 June 1891
DescriptionRix informs Rayleigh that Professor John Henry Poynting's report on Oliver Heaviside's article states that if the intention was solely to safeguard the main paper's publication by the Royal Society, then there could be no objection to the publication of the article. As the article was due to appear in the next number of the 'Electrician', Rix has proceeded on the basis of this report without further consultation. If Rayleigh does wish to stop it, there is still time if he informs Rix by telegraph or return of post.
