TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Drake & Gorham
Date9 July 1891
DescriptionRix asks that they provide him with a statement of the number of hours which the engine was worked in the half year ending 24 June 1891 for the Royal Society, and the Society of Antiquaries, so that he may work out the proportion payable by each to the cost of wear and tear, and other related expenses.

He further asks that, in future, two separate accounts are provided, with one of the expenses to be borne by the Royal Society, and one of expenses to be divided with the Society of Antiquaries. The costs associated with engine should be divided, and those relating to the battery should not be divided, but Rix is not familiar enough with the technicalities to decide which of the other costs are divisible. He notes that this proposed new rendering of the accounts would be a 'great advantage'.
