Description | Expresses a complaint that they have been charged for too many syphons in the Soirée account.
They had 102 syphons for the June Soirée, of which they returned to Barrett's 70 empty, and to Crawford, 32 full, but have been charged for 78. Kennedy tells him that of the 32 full ones, he retained three for his private use, and paid their man one shilling for them. With the 29 remaining full ones he returned four empties on his private account, which may explain the mistake. The receipts have been checked, and the Royal Society are convinced they only owe for 70 syphons. |
