TitleCopy letter from A H White, to the Cambridge Engraving Company
Date4 September 1891
DescriptionProfessor Harry Govier Seeley has informed the Royal Society of his communication with the Cambridge Engraving Company about illustrating his paper, so that they may take up the matter with them. Dr Michael Foster would like an estimate from them, primarily of cost of the draughtsman's work for the purposes of comparison with the draughtsman proposed by Seeley. As a consequence, separate estimates for drawing and printing would be beneficial.

White further explains that the work would consist of drawing the fossil bones of a large reptile, which has been restored and displayed at the British Museum. Specimen drawings for the author's approval would need to be made at the Museum, where the draughtsman would meet with Seeley. If they are prepared to do this, they should inform White, who can tell Foster. As the matter is at an early stage, Seeley has yet to finalise the number of plates, but one is to be a double plate, and some of the work may be processed to save expense.

If Seeley approves of the work and estimate, White asks that they combine the drawing, printing and processing estimate into one set of hours.
