TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mrs Schmitz, 59 Gloucester Road, Regents Park, N.W.
Date12 September 1891
Description'Dear Madam,
In answer to your note received this noon, I have no power to grant an extra fortnight's leave of absence without referring the matter to my chiefs; and I have accordingly sent your letter on to them. The matter which calls your daughter to Berlin appears to be of business importance, absence entailing probable loss, and on that ground I hope that the Officers may be able to grant your request.
I am, yours faithfully
Herbert Rix
Asst Sec RS [Royal Society]'.
