TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Captain N Zelonoy, Beaufort Mansion, Queen Anne's Gate, S.W.
Date23 September 1891
DescriptionRix has noticed that some correspondence has passed between Zelonoy and his deputy during his absence regarding a proposed exchange of publications between the Royal Society and the Scientific Committee of the Russian Admiralty. He notes that there will be a delay in responding as the Society is currently in recess, and so he cannot lay the application before his chiefs.

In the meantime, Rix informs him that the 'Report of the Challenger Expedition' which he mentions, is not, in fact, published by the Society and they have no control over its distribution, although there is a Society Committee which advises the Government. As a consequence, applications for this work should be made to the Treasury.
