| Description | Rix states that he has no power to lend the rooms of the Society without the instructions of the Officers, but will write to the Secretaries at once to ascertain their wishes. He believes it likely that the room will be free on the 22nd at the specified hour, but not on the 29th.
Rix takes for granted that the services of their staff will not be required, with the exception of the porter. Furthermore, he suggests that if the arrangement becomes permanent, that the porter and charwoman be paid a small gratuity to compensate for the additional work and encroachment on their free time. Rix also advises that they either fix a regular evening for the meeting, or provide 10 days notice of an intended meeting to avoid clashes with the Society's committee meetings. |
