TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date13 October 1891
DescriptionRix notes in relation to Foster's 'History of the Statutes' that the paragraph he queries is indeed quite mixed, so he has remedied it and Foster will see his correction. As he does not feel comfortable about the whole thing, Rix has tasked Chapman with going through it with the manuscript books to verify every statement. As there have been so many changes, Rix fears another mix up elsewhere, but he states that it will be ready the next day, when it will be put into type.

Rix also refers to their earlier plan to issue a supplementary number of 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' to contain the Statutes, the 'History of the Statutes', the 'Catalogue of Portraits', and the 'Catalogue of Medals', to which Rix was also going to suggest adding the 'Index to Archives' and the 'Abstract of Charters'. He notes that Foster appears to have abandoned the idea, but suggests that they discuss the matter on Thursday.
