TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Cambridge Engraving Company
Date10 March 1891
DescriptionRix sends an instruction for the writing to be engraved under the portrait of Professor Franz Donders. He does not know if a reference to the volume of 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' is necessary for the binders and publishers, but if they think it necessary, it should be in the corner and as small as possible.

The plate will form the frontispiece of the volume, and Rix states that there should be no headline or writing at the top. Sir William Bowman wants 500, making the total to print 2000. He would like to keep the proof they sent if possible.
