Description'Dear Sirs,
The officers desire to request that you will have the goodness to put the enclose "Preface" into type at once, in the form used for previous volumes of the Catalogue of Scientific Papers, e.g. Vol VII and will you let me have 25 copies of the proof by Wednesday the 28th inst. [instant] for use in Council. If by any mishap the proof shd. [should] not be ready in time, please let me have the MS. [manuscript] back by that day without fail, as I have kept no copy.
