Description'In Messrs Lambs account for paper, I find an item 25 reams [?] dbl [double] medium, under date 21 April 91, which does not appear in my order book. In reply to inquiry they inform me that the order was received by a memo [memorandum] direct from yourselves.
(1) Please inform me whether this is the case.
(2) If it is the case, please note that all orders shd [should] come thro [through] my hands. And if at any time from extreme urgency (which ought not with proper foresight to occur) you are forced to send direct, you must immediately inform myself the fact. Messrs Lamb & Company will not receive the cheque till I get your answer'.
