I laid your paper & letter before the Secretaries yesterday, and am desired by them to inform you that no paper can be read to the Society which is not communicated in the regular way - viz. endorsed with the name of some Fellow of the Royal Society as being suited for communication to the Society. I return your manuscript herewith.
