TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Harold [William Taylor] Wager, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date22 April 1914
DescriptionIn reply to his letter of 15 April, Harrison is returning the paper by Dr Ellis which he has expressed his desire to withdraw. It is not quite accurate to describe the paper as not accepted by the Royal Society. Harrison's letter of 30 March was intended to give him unofficially the opportunity of withdrawing it, without waiting for an actual official adverse decision; having regard to the nature of the reports already received on it.

If it had been formally rejected the long standing practice would preclude the giving of any reasons, but in the circumstances Harrison is asking the Chairman whether he thinks it desirable to give grounds for the opinion that it is not likely to be recommended for publication.
