TitleCopy letter from John Rose Bradford, to The Under Secretary of State, War Office
Date27 July 1914
DescriptionWishes to bring to their notice the valuable service which James Wilson has rendered to the Scientific Commission of the Royal Society, despatched to Nyasaland [Malawi] in 1911 at the request of the Colonial Office to conduct an enquiry into trypanosome diseases, Wilson, an ex-military clerk of the War Office, acted as clerk to the Commission, and the Director Surgeon General Sir David Bruce states that in that capacity and in numerous other ways, Wilson proved himself of great assistance to the Commission, in whose service he has been most persevering and untiring.

He also provided valuable assistance to the Commission for the investigation of Sleeping Sickness in Uganda during 1910-11. Hopes a note will be made of the highly efficient manner in which Gibbons carried out the duties.
