TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to The Secretary, Admiralty
Date27 July 1914
DescriptionAsks that the Lords of the Admiralty have placed before them a request for their assistance to the undertaking which is now being carried out under the direction of a Committee of the Royal Society and the British Association for a repetition of the Magnetic Survey of the British Isles. George Walker Walker, who has been charged with the conduct of the survey, has completed the observations for a great part of the mainland of England and Scotland, and is desirous of working out the selected stations of the Western Coast of Scotland in the autumn.

It would be of great service if one of the H M Ships could be detailed to convey Walker and his equipment to certain places in the Western Isles. Sending an intinerary compiled by Walker [no enclosures].
