TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Messrs Hamblin Ltd, 50 New Cavendish Street
Date23 December 1914
Description'Referring to your letter of December 17th respecting Sir William Crookes's paper on "eye-preserving glass", it would be out of our power to supply 3000 copies (three thousand copies) as our edition is not anything near that number.
Our sale arrangements are in the hands of our printers, at fixed rates, and they have no authority to change them. But if you wanted a round number of this reprinted paper (for which there is a stead demand) at a special rate, it might receive favour able consideration if you let us know for what purpose they are required. Otherwise it would not be feasible or fair to change the practice in regard to the rates charged for our scientific papers.'
